Consideration should be given to the different types of hearing aid available as each type has advantages over another. Things to consider include:

  • Degree of loss: not all shell styles and technologies are appropriate for all hearing losses.
  • Ear anatomy: some ear canals are very tiny, making it almost impossible to fit a CIC aid.
  • Lifestyle: your different listening environments will help to dictate the best hearing instruments to meet those needs.
  • Manual dexterity: CICs and open fits are easy to insert but require a steady hand to replace batteries.
  • Cosmetic preference: there's a wide range of styles, colours and sizes from which to choose.
  • Budget: hearing instruments are available in a wide range of prices depending on the sophistication of the technology however all styles are available to suit every budget.

If you have any concerns regarding which style is right for you we will be more than happy to conduct a range of tests to help determine  the best choice of instrument for your individual needs.
